Accounts of the chronology differ, but some insist that this was the first recording of ?Ç£Sister Morphine,?Ç¥ and that the Stones version, which appeared on their 1971 Sticky Fingers album, was recorded later. In any case, there is general agreement that although the track credits Jagger-Richards as the songwriters, the lyrics were actually penned by Marianne herself, and Jagger wrote the music.
