Quotes:

  • T.S.: How do I do that?

  • [to T.S.]
Brodie: You're gonna listen to me? To something I said? Hasn't it become abundantly clear during the tenure of our friendship that I don't know s**t?

  • Brodie: Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent--I don't care which one--but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator!

  • Silent Bob: Adventure, excitement... a Jedi craves not these things.

  • [Brodie picks up a controller and continues a paused video game.]
Renee: What are you doing? You promised me breakfast.
Brodie: Breakfast, shmreakfast. Look at the score, for Christ's sake. It's only the second period and I'm up 12 to 2. Breakfasts come and go, Renee, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.

Trivia:

  • When Jared Svenning pulls Roddy down and says "What the f*** is goin' on up there?" it is intended to be a reference to the line from Animal House (although in Animal House, the line is "down there" not "up there").

  • The Henry Hudson T-shirt Brodie is seen wearing during the Segaboy scene is from Kevin Smith's old high school, Henry Hudson High in New Jersey.

  • Svenning was not originally supposed to be bald. Michael Rooker was trying to dye his hair gray for a better look, and decided that bald would work even better.

  • The original beginning of the movie tested poorly and was replaced by one that was filmed in L.A. The original beginning contained an incident at the Governor's Ball (the one mentioned by the TV execs).

  • While shopping, Rene Mosier (Shannen Doherty) is seen wearing at least three different outfits. Doherty had a clause in her contract that she could keep everything her character wore and came up with the plan that her character should wear everything she bought on her shopping trip.

Credits Fun:

  • Jay and Silent Bob will return in Chasing Amy

  • Thanks to Mom and Dad for having sex all those years ago
